THE TAN FILES : THE PREP

Posted by | BEAUTY, Spray Tan, SUMMER LOVIN' | No Comments

: : THE PREP : :

The Arcorace Luxe Beauty guide for how to prepare for up- coming spray tan.

The night before or/ morning of your spray tan appointment, give your body an all over scrub and exfoliation. This will remove any residue build up of excess tan (from previously), product and that dead layer of skin.
Doing this will prepare your skin for a blank canvas for the spray tan to soak onto, which gives you a more even result in your colour.

Remember not to over scrub!

Gentle circular motions all over. Not focusing on just one area for too long as you may cause redness and remove too many layers of skin. eeeekkkkkkk!!

TAN

Our recommended product to use is our in salon retail Mr. Smith Exfoliating Body Wash.

Rich in antioxidants and vitamins, the Mr. Smith Exfoliating Body Wash with mango butter, açaí berry and mandarin extract replenishes the skins moisture while also rejuvenating the skin.
As always, both products are PETA certified vegan, sulfate, paraben and silicone free.

 : : DAY OF SPRAY TAN : :

Most important rule… No moisturizers, deodorants or make up should be on your skin before your spray.
Doing so may result in an uneven tan. No body like streaks and patches.
A quick shower, baby wipes or make up removers can do the trick.

Wear loose darker coloured clothing, nothing too tight or too light.

XOXO

THE CHOP | SHORT HAIR DIARIES

Posted by | How To's ..., STYLING LOOK BOOK, WINTER MUSE | No Comments

|| WINTER HAIR LENGTHS ||

Long drabby and draggy hair is out.
Shorter, Cropped, Chopped, Healthier Lengths and Bangs are in!
So Summer is over and so is the 2 to 5 inches of your length that needs to go.
This Winter, like most season changes, also come new trends and new styles with hair.
A bit like the old but with a little twist.
THE CHOP is always a winner, but there are a few variations to suss out before you decide to ditch the length.

Here are a few inspiration pics and some of our latest in-studio creations to help you choose the right style and length for you…

BLUNT CROP

/ WITH TEXTURE AND WAVES

OVER EXTENDED SIDE PARTS  | LONGER AT THE FRONT WITH MIDDLE PARTS

When choosing to go the extra chop in length, my advice is always go above the shoulders, base of hairline, chin / jaw length or a bit lower.
Anything around the shoulder length or lower will result in more effort in styling, especially when you are trying to avoid the hair flicking out crisis.
No amount of straightening will fix it.
Having this length also creates a longer flattering neck, and the edge of the cut give more focus on your facial features like your jaw line and lips.
This style is perfect for event if you have statement earrings or a bold lip colour.

| STYLING TIPS |
There are various ways to style shorter hair, so don’t be affraid of getting out the tools, and playing around with products and hair parts…
Less is always more.
Having the shorter length means half the hair you have to style too.
From the bottom of your ears down is easier to hide, so focus on top.
Choose your hair part…
Middle, side or over extended? Or if its really dirty pull it back into a top knot or a sleek wet look for a night out.

LONG CHOPPED BOB

/ WITH (CURTAIN) BANGZS

THIS LOOK IS OUR FAVORITE!

For the girls who don’t want to necessary want to loose too much length but add a different at the front.
Bangs (Curtain Bangs) are just the trick.
The fuller the better, little to slight feathering is needed to shape the fringe in.
But always remember when choosing this style, regular trims are required to keep this look well maintained and always on point.

CENTER MOROCCAN PENDANT LIGHTS | WOODEN BEADED CHANDELIER PENDANT LIGHT

We have been extremely over whelmed with all the wonderful comments and frequently asked question from a lot of you guys out there…
WHERE ARE YOUR PENDANT LIGHTS FROM?

If you havn’t noticed them yet in our social media posts and in our website. They are usually slightly in the back ground of most of our pictures we post of hair.

When we first starting looking for these amazing Moroccan lights it was definitely a challenge. It took us 6 months to find a supplier, and to wait until they became available. Yes literally every where Australia-wide was SOLD OUT!  However being as particular as I was in the interior of the studio… I wanted that WOW AMAZING factor when you first walk in. The placement of pendant lights and how I visioned the look I was dead set on having them different sizes and different shapes, and definitely in WHITE! A big thank you to Urban Lighting in Sydney who had a few still in stock, however not all of them. So again the wait for a few months until we got all of our amazing lights.

The beaded chandelier light featured near our chill lounge space was also from Urban Lighting, although they are very commonly found in a lot of online stores and even Bali.  However as these where all bough back in June / July 2016 Urban Lighting unfortunately do not have these lights in stock anymore.
However we are here to help!

We have located a few online stores that have these exact pendant lights in stock or very similar styles that you may like. Links are below…

DRY SHAMPOO SAVES THE DAY!

Posted by | Products - Our Picks | No Comments

Dry Shampoo is your best friend when it comes to everyday wear and styling of your hair. If you don’t already have it in your cupboard you should. It can be used for all types of hair, and especially for those busy ladies to help maintain a style when you simply don’t have time to wash the mane.

We have a couple of diffrent ranges in the studio that all vary in their own way. In other words we have you covered in making your life easier when desciding which one is suitable and best for you!

IN STUDIO DRY SHAMPOOS

MR.SMITH | DRY SHAMPOO

The Mr. Smith Dry Shampoo is perfect for those super sensitive babes. It is PETA certified vegan, sulfate, paraben and silicone free which means for those gluten intolerant or unfortunate gals who suffer from serious itchy scalp, this is the product for you! It removes impurities, odour and oil built up from the hair and scalp. Which means longer lasting styles between washes.

Retails at $37.00

EVO | WATER KILLER

This versatile 2 in 1 product acts as a dry shampoo for your greasy / oily roots and as a styling spray, making your hair feel and smell fresh again. The evo Water Killer helps prevent damage for those fine textured babes through vigorous hair washing. It saves time, saves water and can be used anywhere at anytime. We recommend the water killer for the lighter babes with finer texture.

Retails at $35.95

MOROCCAN OIL | SHAMPOOING SEC DARK TONES

We saved the best for last, and yes have found one for the darker haired beauties. The Moroccan Oil Shampooing Sec in Dark Tone leaves your hair soft and silky after a good spray. The ultra-fine rice starch absorbs oil, build up and odour leaving the hair refreshed and volumised. It’s UV-protecting argan oil-infused formula breaks down instantly, leaving no dull residue. Its a great styling tool for that added volume and texture when the mane needs that extra bounce and a longer lasting result.

It’s reason why it’s our main stylist, Nicole Arcorace’s favourite (even on her lighter locks)

Retails at $39.95

HOW TO USE

All Dry Shampoos work the same, so don’t stress that you have to follow the exact instructions on the bottle…

Make sur you shake well before use. Spray arm distance away from the roots of dry hair. Let the product slightly dry and gently massage and work the product through like you would with actual shampoo. Or blow a bit of cool air of a drier for the same effect.

For a style usage… spray the products arm distance away and work through with your hands or with a cool setting on your drier. Then brush out and use your magic hands to mold your do.
